Who would be interested in a tour of the Scott aquarium at the Omaha zoo?

I contacted the Henry Doorly Zoo inquiring about a behind the scenes tour of the Scott aquarium. They said they can definitely arrange a tour of the facilities for us. I know this is something I have wanted to do since I got involved in the hobby, I'm sure I am not alone. So who all would be interested in doing this? We would just have to pay regular $15 admission price to the zoo. It sounds like the aquatics curator would be the one handling the tour for us.

I'm going to be looking at doing this mid-august like the 17th. If the interest is there we could probably look at renting a van or 2 to make the trip even more cost effective. Lets hear some input and see if this is worthwhile to invest some planning into. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I think this would be an excellent idea! I was just there Saturday and was wondering how they did everything. Does this include the penguin tank? I always wanted a penguin. But in all seriousness, I think any tour would be amazing.

Great idea! We would be very interested in going but have a conflict on the 17th (the 24th and beyond works).

I don't know about the penguin tank, but I could certainly ask.

I'm concerned about the date, mid summer? To many outdoor things still going on with families, maybe not.
I think fall would be a better time.

children are welcome on the tour, and they limit the group size to 30.
Would be a great way to spend the end of summer with the family before the kids head back to school. A day at the zoo, and a behind the scenes tour for the fish nerds.

Anyone want to do this? Is there a better date that would work best for a group to take this tour?

We would definitely be interested. Would need to be August 25th or later for our schedule though and then we are pretty open.

We'd be interested but it would have to be after 9/10. I'm running for school bird in Iowa city and that's election day.

Bump. It looks like the consensus is to move this back later in the summer. How does Sept look for anyone interested?

Just a reminder that September 14 is when the Des Moines region is heading to Nebraska Aquatics for their two year anniversary that includes a lot of great give aways and also speakers!!!!

We are in for any weekend in September (after labor day) with the exception of the 14th (but could do the 15th)

Anytime except for the 21st that'd be great. I also wouldn't mind like Dave said above, doing it on the 15th or the day after the Nebraska thing.
