Another post on softies got me thinking.

What do you have in your fuge?

I plan on making mine a cool tank of itself with differnent kinds of macro algae, shrimp, snails, and crabs. I also thought about maybe adding some feather dusters and xenia.

So what is in yours that looks really cool or works well?

It looks yellow in the picture, but it's actually bright green. It's Codium. I also have dragons breath, red razor, and caulerpa, snails, a hermit crab, and a sea cucumber.

I just thinned out some of the macro algae but dragon tounge, string of pearls, blue octodes, halemedia and couple strands of cheato.
Tons of pods and worms, small feather dusters, couple brittle stars, fighting conch, emerald crab.
I am debating on adding a couple bangii cardinals.
Excuse the filter sock. Doing a little water polishing.

Anyone use mangroves in their fuge? I always thought they were a cool addition but I've never had the space or right setup to try them.

I had a 6500k par38 over mine. It now has a rapidled par38 over it.

Mine is shallow, but wide. I was going to get one of the cheap LED fixtures off Amazon to hang over it. They always seem to grow algae really good in display tanks.

I use a led Chinese box. Running Non stop.

Using the Eshopps Curve on my refugium right now, 24/7. The fuge is small so it fits perfect and makes the chaeto explode.

I use two AI Sol Blue's set up on the standard reverse lightning cycle from the display.
    Currently I keep the following:
-Macros: chaeto, ulva, codium, halimeda, red gracillaria, branching coralline, pencillus (shaving brush)
    - Softies: various gorgs, various mushrooms, finger leathers, xenia, gsp
    - Critters: pods, snails, hermits, crabs, and some peppermint shrimp

and while not certainly an ideal plan I have a 14" diameter pagoda cup that is too large for my display as well as some rehabbing montis.

I get grief for having the LPS in there but the lighting is perfect and the loc-line placement has made the relatively lack of flow an non-issue. I suppose that's one of the upsides of a shallow tank. I wanted to keep some Kellogi horses in there but it's just too short.

As for the mangroves I start the pods in the fuge and then when they've gotten too tall and are encroaching on the lights I move them to the sump. Currently I have about 20-25 mangroves between 18" and 36". They do a great job and actually provide housing for two of my fish that have gotten pulled through the overflows and now live in the sump amongst the mangroves!!
