what bulb do you guys run for a 250 watt hqi

    HELLO i was wondering what you guys run for a 20k 250 watt bulb in a hqi i got a ice cap ballast tonight and wantt to run a hqi for my frag tank thanks

    You won't find many running 20k on a frag tank.  10k or 14k will give better growth and since a frag tank is usually used for propagation, well...  See this thread - http://www.greateriowareefsociety.org/Community/DiscussionForums/tabid/78/aft/23008/Default.aspx

    10k while is a great spectrum will make your water look a little yellowish, and kind of wash out the color of your coral. IMO 14k will give you good color and spectrum

    OK so whats a good bulb in a 14k and would you run a hqi or mobel ? i can run ether

    Phoenix are hands down the best 14K HQI bulbs.

    I bought the pheonix bulbs kieth. in the thread i started on this 2 days ago that bulb had the best review.
