I found a free small Sea Star on a coral that I bought at Fall Fest. I was wondering if any of the vendors know what it might be. I am not sure if i should put it in my tank.

Probanly an asterina or a mini brittle star....both good additions to your clean up crew .

Here is a photo of the sea star. He is about 3/8 inch tip to tip.

Watch them, though. Some species eat zoanthids while some are good detritivores. I had a few that hitchhiked on a coral too and I realized my zoanthids started to thin down. One night I saw one on top of a polyp of a zoanthid and sucking it.:cry: They munched on my Paly but actually only ate the tentacles... So, I started to manually remove what I can see night after night and my zoanthids stopped disappearing and actually multiply. And my Paly is not missing tentacles lol. :roflmao::roflmao:

That is an asterina. As a rule a good hitchhiker.
