NEW: GIRS Spotlights!

This an opportunity for hobbyists to showcase their saltwater aquarium while introducing themselves to others. I've seen many aquariums and have heard many stories, from many hobbyists- the sort of things I believe would spark the interests of our GIRS community and audience beyond. Whether you just got started, or have years of experience, this is an opportunity for you! I have no set dates or time period by which the spotlight will be featured, or requirements for what livestock, components, or setup you must have in order to be in the spotlight.


Descriptions:


There are four (4) spotlight categories:

• New Hobbyist: A hobbyist (member or non-member) who is just getting going with a new setup can introduce them self, provide the story of what got them started, and explain what they plan to do in the future. Might not have a cycled aquarium, but the aquarium must be less than 8 months old. Also an excellent oppotunity to show others what you may need help with!
• Beginning Hobbyist: A hobbyist (member) who has kept a cycled aquarium for at least 8 months.
• Experienced Hobbyist: A hobbyist (member) who has an established setup must have kept their aquarium(s) for several years.
• Business Spotlight: Hobbyist that runs a hobby related business will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A as well as to showcase their product selection & services.

The spotlight will consist of:

• An interview (Q&A) with the hobbyist, several photos of their aquarium(s), and one photo of the hobbyist with their aquarium(s).

The photo and interview Q&A will also be posted to the GIRS Facebook page and a link will be placed on twitter. Interviews can take place in person (preferred on video but not a requirement with questions provided in advance) or take place via email.
