Only took like a year... but finally found some
time this weekend to get 95% done! The canopy will be finished tonight. And then I can mud it into the wall and paint it all!

Looks pretty cool set up as a peninsula like that.

Looks good, but I have a question. If you are mudding it I assume it is to look built in. Why the wood as opposed to drywall or cement board? I'm just asking so I don't make a big mistake on a future build.

if you are gonna mud over the wood, use hot mud(the timed bag mud mix)it'll stick to the wood and less prone to any water damage...less.and i suggest a waterborne epoxy paint for the stand when complete.i've mudded and painted for thelast 26 years and those are just my opinion.looks great though.

We may be moving so I am just going to throw some trim in it and paint for now.

As far as why wood vs dry wall is dry wall will melt over time. And I don't want the gypsum getting into the tank at all. There's still a fuge under the and the wood gives me faster access. If anything hardy baker would have had to have been used. But fir a build in it really depends on where the system is going.v this system is used to partition of the kitchen from the living room 1 on the main level. The system isms is about 100-130 gallons in total with a 40 gallon fuge a and a 55 gallon drum dump in the crawlspace under the house directly under the tank. So there is a good bit of potential for long term moisture.

Good job building it in. Crisp corners really make it blend to the existing

Thanks guys! Yeah It really does help to break up the room.before that south wall its on was just a huge long wall between the dinning and living room.

still have to miunt the end cap keeping it loose until I have my new pump in place. And a couple spots on the trim to the wall that need another nail and a recoat but otherwise I think it turned out all right!
