DFS or Marine Depot Group buy

I was wondering if anyone in the Des Moines area was interested in a Doctor Foster Smith or Marine Depot group buy.  I'm in need of just a couple small items - which would cost LESS than the shipping costs.
We've got a tank tour scheduled in 2 weeks - March 20th, so I thought it might be a convenient time for a group buy if anyone needed something..

I might be in for a couple Koralia EVOs if we could get up to the free shipping price. Still reading some about them though as not many seem to have experience.

Let me know what place we are ordering from and I will put a list together. I would say if we can not get the free shipping on Marine Depot we should go with DFS because there shipping is 8.99 and it doesn't take long to get to Iowa.

I would like to get a couple things where do we want to order?

So, I don't have a preference either whether the order is from DFS or Marine Depot.  So, I guess part of the question is whether we can get to the 'free' shipping level at Marine Depot.  I'm only needing a couple of things, so won't have a large impact toward getting to the $175 level.
Bela - what have you decided about the Koralia EVO's ?  Are you interested in getting one or more of them?  How many $s does that add to an order to reach the free shipping level?
Gered & Joe - does either DFS or Marine Depot work for you?  I agree that if we can't get free shipping, we should go with the store that has the lowest shipping rate.

Either works for me. I am mainly looking at some loc-line and bulkheads. Maybe a few other small things. I know Joe owes me a filter sock so whichever one had those /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

I need a heater and dfs seems to have better heaters than marinedepot.

DFS's heaters are cheaper. Me and Gered found that out when we ordered stuff for the frag tank, the heaters were like 5-10$ cheaper on DFS, that was for the Via Aqua ones.

I already have a list from DFS so that would be easy for me. Just a little disappointed no filter socks but oh well. I guess a BRS order will be coming soon sense Joe didn't wait for me!

Haven't heard from Bela.  Based on what Gered, Joe, and I need, it doesn't look like we will reach $175, even if Bela orders the Koralia - unless he decides to order several of them.
How about I plan on placing the order tomorrow (Sunday afternoon) - say by 5pm.  Hopefully that will allow enough time for the order to arrive by next weekend.
So unless something changes, lets assume the order will be to DFS.  Gered and Joe - please let me know specific item numbers and prices for the items you are wanting.

The pumps are no longer on sale at marine depot (were 45, now 58) so I think I will pass.

Joe and Gered - I've entered our order, but not yet submitted it.  The total (before shipping) comes to $173...  So, just wanted to confirm that you still want to proceed with the order at DFS, instead of Marine Depot.  Marine Depot has a price guarantee and will match their competitor - but I don't know that everything that you guys are looking for is at Marine Depot.  In particular I don't think that Marine Depot has the specific heater or acclimation kit that Joe's wanting.  I'm quite ok with sticking with DFS, but I thought I'd throw the question out to you.  In addition to saving the $8.99 for shipping, we'd have to pick out probably another $10 of goods, because there are some of the items cheaper at Marine Depot (i.e. the Salifert kits that Gered wants are in total $6 less).......
Let me know what you think.....

Do they sell Flatworm Exit? I could use a bottle, but couldn't find it searching DFS.

I am an idiot... I wasn't looking under the aquatics section. Feel free to tack that on to the order. Should bump us to free shipping? I can paypal tonight or bring cash on pickup. LMK!

The order has been placed with DFS.  I made that decision since a couple of the items are NOT available at Marine Depot.  Darn...   Bela - I got the Salifert Flatworm exit ordered for you also.  Later today I'll add up the charges and let everyone know.  You can just pay me when the merchandise arrives.
