Looking to pick one up and didn't know if one was available around town that you're having great success with?

Standard socket spiral fluorescent for a clamp on fixture.

    Brand and part #?

    Lowes/Wal-Mart/Menards/etc?

    Thanks!

Thats the type of bulb I use. I just used a generic clamp on relflector that I had lying around and my chaeto fills up the fuge. I think I bought the bulb from wal-mart.  Heres a picture of mine....my fuge is kind of simple but it works :)

Got it - seems a little "blue" but we'll see!
I'll post a pic of the packaging in a bit, I believe it was two bulbs for +/- $6.57.  Rated @ 100w with 23w used, 6,500 daylight bulb.

the problem i have with those bulbs is they aren't bright enough and you end up in a situation where algae grows better in your display tank than in your sump.

I have had good experience with that bulb. I have been growing Mangoves in my sump for almost two years.

As of now, I'm not seeing any growth in the fuge.

Would assume it's for two reasons:

    1. Don't have nitrates yet (least not enough)

    2. Bryopsis is hogging all of the nutrients!
