"I want a pair of clowns"

I have heard that statement 1000 times. And I am sure many of us have pairs of clowns in their tanks now.

But why do we stop with clownfish?

There is nothing cooler then to see a mated pair of fish swimming together. Flame angels, pipe fish, wrasses, virtually and fish that we have are happier mated.

There are obviously some exceptions like firefish, bluespotted jawfish, but for the most part fish can be paired up, and are much happier when they are.

I'm pretty sure that's why I asked for a pair of gobies

Although a pair of butterfly fish swimming together probably has to be my favorite.

There's a fine line between finding a pair that mate and a pair that kill each other. So not really any different from humans.
