Turbo may have something to say differently but I think if you're going with an algae scrubber you should eliminate the chaeto. If you do want live rock keep it out of the light from the scrubber or you will end up growing algae on it instead of your screen. Also, from what I've read and personal experience with mine, a verticle screen works best because you can light both sides of it for twice the surface area. My setup has the overflow coming in first section. I put the algae scrubber there so it gets the most nutrients first. 2nd section is my skimmer. 3rd section is my return/dosing/ATO section. Other people do use multiple nutrient export methods, but the chaeto will compete with the scrubber and it may never mature to grow effective algae. If does it will suck up most of the nutrients and then your chaeto will die off.

Here's mine as an example. Not pretty but it has been getting the job done.

GG, Do you use a pump to get the water to trickle over the algae?

Yes. I have a jebao dc3000 pump that I use and split with a T that pumps water in both ends.
