    Seeing things online stating Live Aquaria filed bankruptcy, website was down for a while, now back with a 20% weresorru discount code. Apparently they are not answering the phones. Some reports of some livestock possibly abandoned....this is crazy!
    Anybody have any recent transactions or experiences with them?

    The livestock is not abandoned in a sense that it's not being taken care of.

    "Thats not what abandonment means in a legal sense. They were trying to convince the court that the animals were a liability and they would continue to lose money taking care of them, and thus would not help the case if they remained under LA care. Basically, they aren't assets that should be valued when assessing what remains after bankruptcy since theyre losing money with them. Abandonment of "property" like this means they are relinquishing it to the court so it becomes the Government's responsibility, allowing the government to step in and allow outside parties to purchase or distribute them out."

    The 20% off promo also ended yesterday. There were a lot of people in the past 2 weeks or so that did not receive their fish shipments. It seems that it is back up and they are liquidating what's left. I ordered a bunch of mysis and it arrived at my house. Not sure I'd trust livestock though.

    Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't find much for solid facts, mostly hearsay and second hand stuff. I know LA was a major player for quite a while.

    I received this email from LA today;

    Setting the Record Straight
    There have been several rumors circulating on social media regarding LiveAquaria. Some contain partial truths, while others are inaccurate. We want to take a moment to provide clarity and ensure our customers have the correct information.
    LiveAquaria remains in business and continues to ship orders daily. We are currently in a period of reorganization with the goal of offering greater variety, improved value, and a more streamlined customer experience.
    Our 25-year-old website has experienced technical challenges, and we are actively addressing them. A complete website redesign has been in development and will be launched soon.
    It is true that a sister company, which served as one of our many suppliers, is winding down operations. This decision is tied to changes in their core business partnerships and does not impact LiveAquaria's operations.
    We have made the difficult decision to sell our physical location in Wisconsin. This move will allow us to better align the financial foundation of the business and ultimately enhance the service we provide.
    For many years, the majority of our livestock has shipped from California, the gateway to Asia and the Indo-Pacific—regions where much of our livestock originates. Centralizing shipping on the West Coast reduces touchpoints, minimizes stress on animals, improves availability, and helps control costs for our customers.
    All livestock will continue to receive proper and responsible care as it is transitioned to our West Coast facility.
    All orders, terms, conditions, and guarantees remain fully honored. If you have questions about an existing order or any customer service matter, please contact us by email. We recognize that customer service response times have been impacted during this transition, and we are committed to restoring the level of service you expect and deserve.
    We sincerely appreciate your patience, loyalty, and trust. We look forward to continuing to serve your live aquatic needs long into the future.
    The LiveAquaria Team
