Never buy a cheap heater! I had one stick on my QT tank today and killed six yellow tangs, one large majestic rabbit fish and lavender tang

    Thanks Marineland

I guess that's my fault for going cheap. Makes me think I should buy an Apex for my Display tank

Sorry for loss, that really sucks! Marineland has never been known for guality. I recommend a separate thermostat just incase of these circumstances.

Crazy how you can get a Jagger for few bucks less than marine land and it's 4 times the product. But yea, def peace of mind to have a controller to regulate the temps. Nothing like a system with double fail-safe

Sorry for the loss of your fish. That really bites. I know I use Eheim/Ebo Jager heaters. I personally have not had any problems with them.

Marina is hagen made. Always super reliable and only $20 for a 300w

I dislike everything marineland. Their filters may last forever but their politics is bad stuff.

I do like the tanks Marineland make black silicone and corner overflows have 4' 150 gallon

With the size of your tank and the investment you will have in it, I would suggest the Apex and as much redundancy as possible;)
